Biography

Pamela Weng holds a Masters degree (1997) in Humanities from the University of Colorado at Denver, where she now teaches piano, music history and literature, the history of rock and roll, ear training and music theory. She has operated Nuance Piano Studio, a private studio in Evergreen, Colorado since 1986, where she has shared her talents with many pianists over the years.

In creating her masters thesis, Pamela combined her love for art with her love for music by recording and producing a CD of "sound paintings" entitled Earthtones (available through CD Baby) that also employed the talents of acclaimed Colorado musicians Drew Morell, Ted Reece, Calvin Standing Bear and Larry Thompson.

Pamela has joined her talents with a variety of artists in the Denver and Evergreen areas, most recently with Denver poets Dee Galloway and Dr. Bob Boyle to form Lost in the Woods Records. Their collaboration resulting in the creation of two CD recordings: Spirit Rising (2005) and Solace: A Journey on the Path of Grief (2004).

Pamela's newest CD, Earthtones II, was released in the Spring of 2008. This new recording features poet Dee Galloway, Calvin Standing Bear on Native American flute, Larry Thompson on percussion, Daria Johanna on cello, Alex Komodore on guitar, Evan Orman on bandonion, Ian Hutchinson on bass, Michael Stanwood on digereedoo, Manuel Arujo on trumpet, Michael Reynolds on guitar, Rick Chinishi on mandolin, and Melia Reece on piano and vocals. A CD release concert and celebration for Earthtones II was held on April 24, 2008 at the King Center on Denver's Auraria campus.
